Roll-Out Solar Array Mechanism
Custom OrderDeployable composite boom system for solar arrays, inspired by the ISS iROSA. Offers compact storage and significant power generation for small satellites.
The core of this system uses bistable composite booms to deploy a flexible solar blanket. Its rolling mandrel design not only saves space but acts as a protective core during launch, shielding the fragile solar blanket.
This design simplifies electrical architecture by eliminating slip rings and enables multi-functional utility, such as embedded antennas.
